Injection Molding Temperature
Control 2.0 for Lower Electricity Costs

Up to 75% Less Energy Consumption with ENGEL Solution

When energy prices are increasing, an efficient injection molding production cell pays off. You can avoid unnecessarily high costs, save resources and minimize your carbon footprint. In injection molding, temperature control makes a large contribution to overall efficiency. Learn how you can significantly reduce your energy consumption with our temperature control solution.

Frequently Asked Questions About
ENGEL Temperature Control

By switching from conventional temperature control systems to the ENGEL solution, you benefit in several ways:

  • Significantly reduced energy consumption

  • Lower water consumption

  • Stable processes

  • Increased transparency and data quality

  • Reduced scrap rates

  • Higher productivity

  • Lower maintenance requirements

  • Fewer units for the same performance

Conventional temperature control systems are not efficient. The constant flow control causes high energy and water consumption. Adjustments of parameters are not possible, even when process conditions change. This results in unnecessary scrap. With the intelligent ENGEL injection molding temperature control, you use exactly the amount of energy and water required to produce a good part, shot for shot. Our customers save up to 75% of their energy requirements for temperature control.

The ENGEL temperature control system consists of three key components:

The water manifold continuously measures the temperature difference between supply and return in each individual circuit of the mold. Based on this value, iQ flow control meters the actual amount of water required for each distribution circuit, therefore keeping the temperature differences stable. In addition, the water requirements are shared with the temperature control unit and the optimum speed of the pump is set accordingly. The mold temperature remains constant even under changing process conditions - with minimum energy needed.

Up to 20% of rejected parts in injection molding are caused by errors of temperature control. It is often difficult to determine since conventional systems do not allow a precise insight into all relevant parameters. iQ flow control provides you with the necessary clarity about your temperature control processes. It prevents temperature fluctuations before they lead to scrap. This saves you material and time.

Another advantage of the intelligent temperature difference control: The pumps of the e-temp units only use the power currently required. This not only reduces energy consumption, but also avoids wear. You benefit from up to 50% less maintenance while extending the service life of your equipment. Through intelligent configurations between e-temp, e-flomo plus, and the mold, the number of temperature control units and the quality of the output can be additionally optimized.
