Compensation of Fluctuations in Plastic Viscosity
Thanks to injection process control with iQ weight control (plus)
The software optimises the injection volume during the ongoing injection moulding process. This regulates fluctuations in plastic viscosity and responds to external influencing factors. iQ weight control compares the injection pressure curve of each cycle with a predefined reference curve. Additionally, iQ weight control plus regulates the injection process via the flow time. In both cases, the accuracy of the injection moulding process is increased and the weight of the components remains constant.

It adjusts the injection volume depending on the plastic viscosity in the current cycle. Fluctuations are compensated for in each shot, thus reducing the scatter of the moulded part weight by up to 85%. Fluctuations in the viscosity of plastics are a major challenge when processing recyclates and bioplastics. iQ weight control (plus) detects these fluctuations in the raw material and adapts the injection process to the current production conditions. Recyclates and bioplastics can thus be processed from different sources - with a significantly minimised reject rate and increased productivity.
