Mechatronics - automation technology

As a mechatronics technician, you bring together mechanical and electronic parts, components and systems. You connect machines (hardware) with electrical and electronic components (software). You put systems into operation, set their functions, program and operate them. This requires manual dexterity, good problem-solving and combination skills, computer skills and technical understanding.
Duration: 3.5 years

Metal technology - machining technology

As a metal technician in machining technology, you are involved in the planning, production and processing of workpieces: Drilling, milling, turning, filing or grinding. Your task is to transfer a CAD design drawing into a production programme and to manufacture the planned workpiece using a CNC machine tool. If you are fascinated by metal and work accurately and neatly, this is the profession for you.
Duration: 3.5 years

Metal Technology - Mechanical Engineering Technology

As a metal technician in mechanical engineering, you assemble machines and production plants and manufacture spare parts. You assemble various individual parts into a functional whole, check and adjust the machine and put it into operation. You are also responsible for maintenance and repair: As a mechanical engineering technician, you work in a broad field of activity, in factory halls and on construction sites.

Plastics technology

As a plastics technician, you acquire a sound knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of plastics. Your job is to operate machinery and production facilities, develop manufacturing processes and work out testing methods. Your field of work is therefore very broad and ranges from consulting, testing, research, development and production to business management activities.

Materials engineering

As a materials technician, you take samples and carry out and document test procedures to improve the material properties. You test the materials for their hardness, resilience and heat resistance, for example. This can be done by elongation, compression and tensile tests or also by non-destructive methods such as microscopy, X-ray and ultrasound.

Mechanical engineering design

As a design engineer specialising in mechanical engineering, you design, plan and build systems. Creativity and an excellent technical understanding are required here. It's all about perfectly implementing customer wishes and finding an optimal solution. You work in development, design or in production preparation and use special CAD software programs for calculation, drawing and simulation.

Operating logistics

As an operational logistician, you are responsible for ensuring that the right goods are at the right place in the right quantity and quality at the right time and at the right cost. You organise the work processes and document them. Your work area is an important interface between the warehouse and administration as well as between suppliers, production and customers of your company.

Application development - Coding

As an application developer, you work out system requirements and programme the corresponding applications. User-friendliness plays an important role. You analyse data and implement data security measures. In addition, you set up interfaces, carry out tests and correct errors. Your tasks also include training users and maintaining the applications.

Information Technology - Operating Technology

As an IT technician, it is up to you to advise your customers or your company on IT and to take care of the existing communication technologies in the best possible way. This includes setting up, installing, configuring, testing and maintaining computers and peripheral devices. You are also responsible for selecting and supporting hardware and software solutions. You also read technical documentation and train users.

Dual Academy - mechatronics (automation technology)

The Dual Academy offers practice-oriented training for all high school graduates and those changing careers. The training period is shorter than the classic apprenticeship. Mechatronics is the interface between mechanics, electronics and information technology. You create construction drawings on the computer, produce components, put machines into operation and are at our customers’ sites during assembly work. In addition to manual skills, you also need good communication skills.
Duration: 2.5 years

Dual Academy - purchasing

The Dual Academy offers practice-oriented training for all high school graduates and those changing careers. The training period is shorter than the classic apprenticeship. As a purchaser, you determine the demand for goods, obtain offers and order the goods. With your product and technical knowledge, you find the most favourable purchasing options. Commercial interest, organisational talent, a confident manner, communication skills and mathematical understanding are essential here.
Duration: 2 years
