Privacy policy: Internet for guests
ENGEL takes the protection of your personal data and your right to privacy and information very seriously and strictly adheres to applicable data protection laws.
Personal data is processed in the course of using our internet platform for guests only to the necessary extent. Our aim is to provide you with secure and legally compliant internet access.
The data will not be transferred to third parties without explicit prior consent.
The following policy gives you an overview of how we ensure said protection and what kind of data is processed for which purpose.
By using ENGEL Internet Access, you agree to use the system for business purposes only. You also acknowledge that ENGEL will not be liable for any damage caused to your equipment, software or data due to or in connection with the use.
You understand that ENGEL Internet access is not protected against potential external attacks and that your traffic is not encrypted by our infrastructure. We therefore strongly recommend using appropriate security mechanisms. You assume sole responsibility for your activities on the Internet by using the ENGEL Guest Internet Access.
Generally, there is the option of self-registration or registration via ticket for the use of our guest internet. Self-registration takes place either by entering your name (first and last name) and e-mail address or via social login (Facebook, Google, etc.) by logging in with the access data at the respective platform operator.
Registration via ticket takes place via our reception. In order to be able to carry out the registration, the full name, company and address in particular are required.
Irrespective of the registration, your network MAC and IP address are logged together with your connection data in the course of using the internet access. Web tracking is completely deactivated for our guest internet.
In the course of using our guest internet, cookies are stored on your device. Cookies are small text files that are created by a website during your visit. Different types of cookies are used. Session cookies are only stored for the current browser session and are deleted as soon as you close the browser.
Persistent cookies remain stored for a longer period of time and allow you to be offered a website in the correct language, for example, when you visit it again. Persistent cookies do not contain any personal data. No marketing or tracking cookies are used in connection with the use of our guest internet. You can manage the cookies stored in your browser yourself and thus also delete them.
In principle, no data is passed on to third parties as defined by the GDPR. When logging in via social login (Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Twitter, etc.), you use this service with the login data already known to the respective provider. ENGEL has no influence on any associated conclusions about your whereabouts or your usage behaviour by the listed or other platform providers.
By using the Internet access, you agree that the data listed will be stored on ENGEL servers until the defined retention period expires. Tickets and entries about logged-in users are anonymised after 187 days. From this point on, no further personal reference can be made. After 730 days, the data is completely deleted. Tickets can be deleted, anonymised or cancelled at any time. It is also possible to deregister users.
