ENGEL North America began construction today on a new technical center in Queretaro, Mexico. The 20,000 square foot technical center will serve the company’s injection molding market throughout Mexico.
ENGEL, a world leader in the design and manufacture of injection molding machines and part-handling automation systems, continues to demonstrate its commitment to the injection molding industry by breaking ground for its newest technical center. The new 20,000 square foot Queretaro facility built specifically for ENGEL de Mexico will feature sales, service, training, spare parts inventory and logistics, plus a show room for equipment demonstration and a molding laboratory for injection molding process development. The new technical center will also have additional staff including a technical director and processing engineer who will work with customers on process development. The new state of the art facility is expected to open in May, 2010.
“Mexico is an important market for ENGEL,” said Steve Braig, president and CEO of ENGEL of North America. “The injection molding base has continued to grow over the years, expanding more to the central part of the country. In addition, the injection molding market in Mexico continues to become more sophisticated, requiring greater processing support.”
ENGEL de Mexico has been providing sales, service, spare parts, and other support services to Mexican molders directly since 1996 from smaller, leased facilities in Mexico City. The new facility will be in the new El Marques industrial park in Queretaro.
“The ENGEL de Mexico Technical Center will be a comprehensive resource for molders, from providing spare parts, to process development support, to a training room for ENGEL’s award winning seminars,” said Alberto Meade Garcia, general manager of ENGEL de Mexico. “It continues to illustrate ENGEL’s ongoing commitment to our customers to provide the latest in technology, automation and process development in injection molding.”
