Fast cycling and thin-wall molding need not be exclusive to traditional accumulator driven hydraulic machines. ENGEL will demonstrate high speed injection molding on an all-electric ENGEL e-motion T US injection molding machine, in booth #S24000 at NPE2009.
ENGEL, a world leader in the design and manufacture of injection molding machines and part-handling automation systems, is exhibiting an ENGEL e-motion 420 T all-electric machine that can produce 72 closures in less than 5 seconds. The e-motion machine line is an attractive alternative for molders, particularly those in the packaging industry, looking for the most energy-efficiency in injection molding machines.
The ENGEL e-motion T design allows molders to push the limits beyond standard applications to those not previously attainable with all-electric technology. The extremely precise parallel action, thanks to the independent electric motors, makes the ENGEL e-motion machine perfect for high-speed applications. Built on the same platform as ENGEL’s fast running ‘speed’ line of injection molding machines, it has the following standard features:
1) Parallel function of all machine movements
2) Moving platen guided on precision linear bearings (not the tiebars) for frictionless motion and clean part deposit area (no lubrication of tiebars)
3) Water-cooled direct drive motor for clamping provides quick response and cycling
4) Extreme injection precision inherent with servo technology
5) Optimized high speed 5 point double toggle for even clamping and fast cycles
The e-motion 420 T machine provides 60 percent energy savings versus a comparable hydraulic / accumulator driven high-speed machine. In addition, the machine has all the traditional standard advantages of all-electric machines such as lower noise levels, enhanced environmental conditions due to the elimination of oil disposal, and exact positioning of all machine movements.
The ENGEL e-motion series is available from 200 to 550 in tiebar design, and from 60 to 200 in the tiebarless design.
