ENGEL's duo pico Combines Strength With Small Footprint

ENGEL North America’s new duo pico injection molding machine is the fastest two-platen machine on the market, providing the strength and power of a much larger machine…in a small footprint.

ENGEL North America, a world leader in the design and manufacture of injection molding machines and part-handling automation systems, has introduced the innovative new entry in its duo line of machines – the duo pico. The duo pico brings the advantages of large-scale machines to sizes ranging from 500 to 770 US Tons clamping force. This new, smaller size continues the duo tradition of high performance through a two-platen clamping system for maximum energy efficiency and a very short dry cycle time of 2.6 seconds.

In addition, the duo pico offers excellent part quality and minimum mold wear due to stable platen control and highly precise, platen parallelism The duo pico’s optimized drive power, reduced weight and frictionless movements (due to zero contact between tiebars and platen) results in an energy-efficient operation.

“The duo pico is the newest in a complete series of high performance machines that was first introduced in 1995,” explained Steve Braig, ENGEL North America president and CEO. “The duo pico benefits from this history, but also brings the added features and enhancements of our control technology.”

The duo pico’s modular construction gives it the highest flexibility for customized operation. It features 20 easy-to-service combinations in the standard injection unit, and a flexible drive concept for optimum cylinder acceleration. It is also easily adaptable to a variety of ENGEL technology options.
