ENGEL Symposium to Present Trends & Technologies in Medical Molding

New developments in all aspects of medical injection molding will be the subject of a two-day technical symposium presented June 18 and 19 by ENGEL North America.

Production of medical products requires an injection molding operation that is fast, clean and highly efficient. ENGEL North America, a world leader in the design and manufacture of injection molding machines and part-handling automation systems, will lead a discussion of the latest industry advancements in medical injection molding in a technical symposium June 18 and 19. “Clean and Precise – We Make the Grade,” will take place at the ENGEL North American headquarters in York, Pa.

Technical sessions feature a wide range of issues impacting medical injection molding, including FDA validation, controlled environments and clean rooms, mold making, microstructure molding, advanced processing and materials, medical automation and assembly. In addition, a presentation by Bill Rodman, associate publisher of Medical Design magazine, will be featured during the symposium.

A wide range of ENGEL equipment will be operating and on display, including an e-victory 80/55 US with Staubli robot and clean room package, producing lab-on-a-chip (which was also displayed at the K2007); an e-motion 330/110 US, molding a liquid silicone o-ring; and a speed 200 US running a 48 cavity syringe barrel mold.

ENGEL North America has hosted two technical symposia in the past year, with more than 100 attendees at each.
