ENGEL introduces all-electric machine technology to traditional rubber molding.

Engel’s all-electric tiebarless machine with a fully integrated 6-axis robot will be displayed at the Rubber Expo 2007, processing an original application with Viton® fluoroelastomer. The Engel e-motion 310/110 US machine will run a 64 cavity valve-gated mold, with in-mold slitting.

The part being molded is an OEM check valve, which would traditionally be compression or transfer molded.  Traditional molding methods are high labor / high waste.  By utilizing the accuracy of Engel’s all-electric machine, and the addition of a fully-integrated six-axis robot, Engel will show a solution which eliminates labor, reduces waste and provides the consistency and accuracy required for today’s manufacturing environment.

Additional benefits:

1) Ability to switch between strip rubber, liquid silicone rubber and even thermoplastics with simple screw and barrel change-over, giving ultimate molding flexibility.
2) Repeatability and reliability of an all-electric machine.
3) 30 – 40% energy savings compared to traditional hydraulic machines.
4)  New CC200 intuitive touch screen control panel with an active graphic touch window.
